Hey guys, been awhile since I asked for help. Anyways, I'm having trouble running bioshock. I updated it to verision 1.1 and now whenever I double click the exe it goes to full screen, but black, for about 2 seconds and crashes to the desktop. It keeps doing this.

I'm having trouble finding someone else with this issue so any tips would be appreciated.

I need to update my sig, but my machine is now a 9800GX2, 4 gigs(even though Xp only recognizes 3), and a E8500. Fresh install. Tried a few Nvidia drivers, switching doesn't help. Other games play fine.

Thanks!

had the same problem... you have to install the proper drivers for your sound card...

I think he means you need to have the most up to date drivers for your sound card.

hmm dunno , does it do it before you patched the game also? else just play version 1.0

when i installed Windows, it obviously automatically installs drivers for the sound card which in my case is an on board Realtek... i got the errors and learned from the 2K Games forums that i needed to download the real Realtek drivers and software that i had to download from the Realtek website...

Just did that and that didn't fix anything.

I was having similar issues with bioshock when I first installed it, I reinstalled video/sound drivers and it did not help.
Gave up on the game for awhile and then recently decided to try it again and it worked perfectly go figure.....

Donno what fixed so cant help but I wish you goodluck :)
