I set it to 850 int he profile (from 790) and got no resulting increasce in 3DMark06. Does this mode of setting Core Frequency work? Can I unlock more frequency beyond 790 wihtout any dangerous flashing of voltage changes?

you probably wont be able to get it any faster without a voltmod, you cant do it in software you would need to do it with a soldering iron.

anyways there really isnt a point of diminishing returns due to the fact that it is almost impossable to bandwith starve this card. turn the GDDR5 up to 4.4ghz(what its rated for) and u get 140GB/s of bandwith, so the only limiting factor is the core clock itself, and the rest of ur computer

if u set it to 850 in the profile similar to how ppl change the fan speed and then run CCC and activate the profile, then no ur not going to see an increase. CCC is limited to 790 max. u could set it to 2k it still wouldnt go above 790 (i dunno if it would freeze or not) if u want to go higher DL riva tune 2.1 and disable / exit all CCC programs using Task manager. if u take it off ur task bar its still running in the background.
