2GB (2x1GB) Dual Channel DDR2 800 kit. Ram timings: 4-4-3-8

This is supposed to be "value" brand RAM. I have Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 800 with 4-4-4-12 timings

Super Talent 2x1gb kit: $43.99
Crucial Bal. Tracer 2x1gb kit: $70.99

What is missing here? There's gotta be some kinda catch.

I'm planing on buying 2 sets of this Super Talent (for a total of 4 1gb sticks) on Monday, unless someone can tell me theres something wrong with this stuff.

And listen to some of the reviews:

"Pros: There are tons: First, these chips are phenomenal. Right out of the box they run extremely tight timings (4,4,3,8) I can confirm I have overclocked to 1000+ (5,5,5,15 and 2.1v) with only minimal heat issues."

"Pros: The Super Talent T800UX2GC4 2GB DDR2 800MHz memory kit overclocks higher with stock timings then all other brands (at the time I'm writing this). I am able to reach STABLE at 1.1Ghz with 2.3V and the stock time of 4-4-3-8 AMAZING!"

"Pros: BFG 680i
4-5-3-8 980Mhz 2.2V 2T
5-5-5-15 1200Mhz 2.2V 2T
For the price you can see Pretty much a mad overclocker"

"Pros: RUNNING @1000MHZ 4 4 4 9 2.35V STABLE,LOOKS GOOD,WORKS WITH P5W DH"

"Pros: Wow, this ram is absolutely amazing! I can run it at DDR2 1000 4-4-3-8 and 2.1V stable. I HIGHLY recommend these sticks for anyone that wants a high overclock, fast ram, or a combination of the two. Great price! System specs below"

Well I got my 2x1GB DDR2-800 4-4-4-12 ballistix for $25 some months ago, and has just ordered 2x1GB OCZ Reaper DDR2-1150 5-5-5-18 for $35 :). Those prices are after rebate, though.

I've seen good reviews about SUPER TALENT, never owned a set, friend has a set, he doesn't OC at all, but they ran fine out of box. Older DDR-400 set, but still good back when.

at a store i work at, pretty much all the ram is plain supertalent, not the fancy heatspreader ones. havnt had a whole lot of luck with the ddr2 800+ versions with compaibility - end up getting a bigger brand. they usually have regular(random), micron labeled, and samsung labeled supertalent all being diffrent priced. have heard rma isnt bad. dont care for it myself. whats with the walmart looking heatspreaders..gg

Well, I just ordered 4gb of that Super Talent (4x1gb, 2 kits).

$37.98 for 4GB of RAM, and free overnight shipping. (One of the Senior Service Reps is real nice to me :attn: )

So, tomorrow I'll find out what these things can do.

Whao... I thought my 4GB @ $60 is as cheap as it gets. (mines are Ballistix and Reapers, though :))
