Would it really be worth it to buy 2 AMD MP's and run em together on dual mobo? Like 1.6x2 =3.2ghz? Would you really see the performance difference? If so I am thinking about it. I picked up a few SCSI hard drives and I am thinking of going this way. I want more SPEED! I wont ever be satisfied until MY PC outperforms the reaction time of my frontal lobes haha.

You have it wrong my friend! "Like 1.6x2 =3.2ghz?" No you do not get 3.2 ghz by adding 2 1.6 chips in a dual setup. What you do get is superior multitasking as the puter can handle threads much better. For gaming 2 cpu's can be slower than one, in fact, 1 cpu is faster alot of the time. It really depends on what you are using the machine for. www.2cpu.com is a good place to start.

let me throw in my 2 cents here, ok... the only time the second cpu kicks in is when the first cpu is at a certain load, such as a percent i heard yo ucan change this but im not for sure as store techies have told me this, bu ti do know that for games one cpu is better then 2!

I can agree with 2 being slower than 1 CPU in a side by side fps race.

The idea of 2 cpu's being faster is also true just under different type of situations. If you try to say encode a video and play quake on a single system lol I think you will notice a slow down He He He

Now on a dual system you can encode and play a game. And do other stuff in the background with no problems.

So if a test was taken for FPS on a single and a dual both encoding video the dual would smash any single system you put against it.

In the end though to test a Single and a Dual together is a bad idea because each system has its uses and the single cannot compete against the dual in the multitasking areana. However it is cool to know that a dual can compete with a single in the area a single is strong and do damn good against it !!!

This is not true. The load between CPU is even distributed most of the time.

For games/software that are only single thread (Only support one CPU) there may be some increase, or there could be less.

Software/games that support 2 CPU's will run alot faster on a dual system.

Dual systems are good for multitasking.
