Codex whats that ?

Sorry for the dumb question but what is codex and which one/ones do I need to play most all file types in wmp 6.4?I dont want/need the bloat of wmp 7.1.

O hardware is so much easier

Basically they are just plugins to allow playback of different file formats.

The only ones I can think of that you would need for WMP6.4 are DivX and maybe the Indeo codec. Both are free.
