so with the price drop bringing the 64gb core series ssd's down to about $100, i was wondering if anyone had any experience with these drives. it is a mlc so i have heard that it isn't appropriate for os installation. is this true? i would be getting the ssd to load os and games onto it, and if mlc is bad for this, then i will pass up the deal...

how does these compare to velociraptors? anyone have both?

Meh. Slow and unreliable according to most reports. Assuming you mean the version 1 drives..

General consensus on them is they aren't worth it. Unless you raid a whole bunch of them to compensate for the low small file performance.

Read this thread to get the details:
http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=576352

There is a summary at the end of it.

A good question regarding them would be how many of them do you need to raid to get good low file performance?
