Hi Folks,
The other day, I said to myself " self, you should make a water reservoir that will be outside of your PC. " something maybe aluminum and the same size as the case and act as a pedestal. I got the idea after I put a machine together for my daughter and realized that air cooling that 1.2 tbird made the room sound like you were in an airport. I purchased a mid tower case for there system. I could squeeze all the water cooling components in that case but instead thought of making the base / reservoir. I could put the pump in there also maybe incorporate the radiator on the side or back. Kinda like a koolance setup but bigger and better. With a reservoir that size a radiator may not be needed. The water and aluminum may dissipate the heat. No fan required.
Perhaps someday not far in the future air cooled heatsinks will incorporate a water block along with fins and a fan. the hoses will connect to the rear of the case and water-cooling would be an option. An upgrade if you will. Just add what I want to build.
I think this idea is a good one for a lot of reasons. Just one of which is if something leaks , 90 % of the water system is outside of the case. You could have different models. let folks upgrade down the road as chips get hoter.
I would appreciate your comments.
