so i am thinking about getting into water cooling as i would like to get a max overclock on one of the new e8400's with e0 stepping. i was wondering if anybody had a good suggestion for a first time water cooling kit or list of components that won't break the bank, but will perform...or could point me in the direction of some place to really read up on the water cooling scene, as it may be...

suggestions?

Well, a good place to start is here. Have you read all the stickies and linked to all the recommended places etc? Once that painless part is done, read through ohh the last few pages of posts, some really good discussion there.

Once thats all done, you'll be able to pretty much decide what you want and with a bit of input from us be on the road to WC.

Cya in a few days!

Agreed. Things to note when you read through

1) barbs
2) Clamps
3) compressional fittings
4) oversized barbs
5) CPU/GPU etc blocks
6) tubes (ID/OD size, brand etc)
7) Pump (heat dump, pressure, flow (LPM/GPM))
8) Radiator (dual/tripple/quad, thickness, fin density etc.)

LOL Oldskool. I hope you plan to undervolt those fans, nice set tho, all ya need. Don't see the hose or clamps, so add ohh $45 more? Still about right for a really solid setup.

the Swiftech H20-220-APEX-GT is probably the only LC kit that would be recommended around here and it wont break the bank, you still need to read the stickies to understand how LC works...good luck!

PS. Try and stay away from any dye, just use distilled water :D

i am currently putting together my first WC setup with parts in sig, been modding the crap out of my rocketfishy this weekend. Using tygon tube and using all metal fittings.
think the biggest mistake you can make is using certain dyes which will abstruct flow with build up and mixing copper and aluminum.

i would go with a double to triple sized rad (120mm) and go with the swiftech GTZ or Dtek Fuzion V2 for the block. and the MCP355 or MCP655.
