Hello,

I am having issues finding a "dumb" controller.
By dumb, I mean hat it does not do RAID. Simply allows me to connect SATA (or possibly SAS) drives.

I am Looking to create a sort of file Server. I want Software Raid for better/easier/all-in-one-place management.

I am looking for a Linux Compatible Controller that will let me plug in preferably 8 Drives. ( 2 4 port controllers would be acceptable too)

I would prefer to have a controller hat supports SAS drives, for future expandability, but it's not necessary.

I know I can use an existing controller that does support RAID, and simply not use it. I am trying to see if something exists without those features, to possibly reduce the controller's cost. No need to waste money on features do need.

I would also like this controller to have a PCI-Express interface,

Anyone know of such a controller?
