This question is for anyone who wants to answer:
What's the best 3dmark 2001 score you've heard for a geforce 2mx card?
I've spent weeks tweaking everything--with the exception of
oc'ing the cpu, and I can't get higher than 2596. My card is up to 200/166 (the ram on the card is horrible)
Also, what's the next thing I should upgrade?
thanx guys
ecs k7vta3 v.2
amd duron 1gig

Flogged it pretty hard to get there, but it's stable. Apparently the AsusV7100 has some pretty good (fast) memory. I think it's 4.5 ns. (oops, different card) Mine is an mx400. I got a 3182 at the default 3dmark settings and default proc and vid card settings.
Well I have not really checked out other peoples MX scores but I can show you mine:beer:

thanks guys,
just oc'd my card to 205/172 (highest w/o distortion) and knocked it down to 800x600
got a 3766
i guess its normal for a geforce2 mx
bigbenji....your scores when o\ced should have been higher.
Try to test with different drivers.
Use the Det. 22.50 , 22.80 ,23.11 some systems perform better
with different drivers.
With your card o\ced you should be arround 2800-3000 on default
3dmark2001 test.
Good luck
I would really like you to give us the link to your 3182 score at default test.
And also give us the one when o\ced again at default test....
that is 1024*768*32 ,double buffer.......
The link you posted is at 640*480*16.......not the standard measurement.
Thanks.
Here's the 3182 link - at default computer/video speeds - no o.c.ing...

it is also with the slower drivers...for some reason, the newer drivers screw up the sound and freeze UT on my computer - they did with my Duron also. Can't have that now!! I'll get around to trying to max out the score - maybe later today. Have fun!
P.S my card default speeds are 200/200. It will run at 240/240 without artifacts.
here's my Duron, same system except for processor
http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2296036
750 Duron at 910 and video at 240/240
Try to work out your settings...you should be arround 4000 on default test when o\ced especially with that athlon of yours.
Good luck
I was too lazy to signup at MadOnion but my score was:
16253dmarks @ 1024x768
I have an Asus V7100 Magic Series Clocked @ 210C/400M
If my rig was better I would have got higher.
ITs only a P3 500 with a bad motherboard.

oc the cpu...that will make a big difference...also your next upgrade shoyuld be a new video card when teh Geforce4s come out grab a Gf3 for cheap....
3812 Worked it pretty hard ... I think I can get a little better but not much. Powerstrip maxes out at 266 core clock speed, my card will do that but seeing as how my computer allows my family to access the internet - and they were getting a little tired of me benchmarking - I only tested at 260Core/240Mem - anyone know of another program that will allow me to take the core higher? My memory won't go past 242 without artifacts. Of course, I don't have ramsinks - yet! I think I'll go hacksaw that old Pentium 200 heatsink right now...My Iwill board maxes out at 146FSB so I don't think I'll ever catch those Huge FSB guys...I did get the #4 spot for my proc range though...

Thanks Guys...I got rivatuner and went to 290 core clock, thought it was going to make it through a o.k but It choked on the "spinning pooh" as my family calls it...I'll check out the powerstrip too. Why did he have to say 4000....It's a tall mountain for my $380 worth of computer components...
