Anyone know what their shipping is like?
I sent them a message about the possible (probable?) brokering fees but they've not responded yet. But the base shipping calculations seem pretty fair.

They specifically stated in a FAQ that they would have one or two Canadian based warehouses to prevent brokerage fees. Let me see if I can find it.
Or I'm wrong and only thought I saw something that stated that......Oh well NCIX has always treated me right.
Anyone place an order yetÉ
Ièd love to order something but there is nothing on thier site that says where their canadian orders are being shipped from. They are using UPS so if orders are shipped from the States there is going to be a big brokers fee on our end.
Two days ago I said: When you ship to Canada, are there any Brokering fees or other cross-border duties involved?
And today they said: Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Newegg.
That is all included in the final total we offer on our website.
Looks good. Looks like the final total price with taxes and shipping will also include brokering fees. I think I'm gonna take the plunge...

Well, all I can say is, I am disappointed. Their whole shipping and taxes fees has put me off and so far its cheaper to shop from NCIX than Newegg.

Where is Newegg.ca shipping from? I find this all confusing.
I was charged the Govt. Sales Tax (understandable)...but ALSO the Provincial Sales Tax? How so? That is only if I am buying from within Ontario. If so, then the shipping is really expensive at $15 Standard UPS. Something doesn't add up. :screwy:
Futureshop/BB < FactoryDirect/TigerDirect < CanadaComputers < newegg.ca(atm) < ncix < shops down the street (50/50 online outlets and geek-run shops)
Online retailers are great, but there's lots of shops that are not a nub-trap and have the best of both worlds.
In other news, some guy at Collage is constantly harassing me for being an "ATi fanboy" that tried to rip him off, he asked me what video card to get and ignores my recommendation of getting a 4850 for $155 AMR from Infonec/NCIX, and gets a 9800GTX for $190 from futureshop with no AMR.
He has a lot of sudo-friends so I can only imagine how bad his new $3000 computer is.
Doesn't newegg has a warehouse in Toronto that acts as their Canadian hub?

Sometimes FS has great deals, better than any online retailer but you have to watch out for those. If they have a warehouse in Toronto, then the shipping shouldn't be ~$15 Standard.
I plunged for a few inexpensive bits, just in case there are additional fees. I got notice that my order went through (and my card being processed) without delay. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
Update: their system says it shipped today but I haven't gotten anything from UPS to track it with.
Got my tracking number via email 90 minutes ago. Said my order was coming from La Puente, CA. yesterday. I clicked the tracking link and it says it shipped from Edison, NJ instead???

Wow. Mediocre prices, shipping charges and my absolute favorite "Ridiculous Brokerage Fees". Great.
Memory Express has better prices, good service, IPR and it's a short drive away.
Anyone living in Edmonton, Calgary or Winnipeg will probably do the same.
Can't say the same for the rest of Canadians though.

Their servers/headquaters are located in CA.... Edison, NJ is where one of their warehouses is.

Finally they're here after they said they were going to set up shop 2 years ago. Since I just built a new quad rig and parts from ncix, I checked out a few things. The Q6600 CPU is about $10 more, my 9800GT is $20 more and the P5Q Pro is $15 more at newegg, add the PST on top and it's a no brainer that I'll stick with ncix. I did sign up for their sales e-mail so I'll see what develops. Plus their rebates are in USD, so there's a few more bucks to tack on. S@H rates seem to be comparable with ncix.

NO BROKERAGE FEES!!!!!!!!!!!
I know because i ordered 2 things on day one and it was shipped as if it came from Amazon.com. Left on my front step and no collector
Yes! However their prices are iffy at best, but you never know what might come up.

How was it shipped? Unless it was UPS or FedEx who have their own brokerage services you might be getting a brokerage bill at the door a month down the road from a third party brokerage firm handling parcels at the border. Just a possibility, it's happened to me plenty of times.

No brokerage fee's confirmed here as well. My address was verified by Newegg on the Oct 6 & package arrived today. Can't complain about shipping speed.
Mine was shipped yesterday and it's already over the border. I should have it tomorrow or Friday. And I have a commitment from Newegg customer service that all brokering fees are included up front in the shipping price. So if the pull some monkey business I can go after them.
So my package is out for delivery today, and I know they're not going to figure out which buzz code for my unit in the building is even though it's listed in the lobby, and my wife wants us to go out for lunch. Now I have today off work and she'll be going out tomorrow afternoon so today is much better to stick around for the delivery than tomorrow would be but she wants it so we go. We eat at the diner then after we leave she decides to go look in the store next to it. And I agree since we're there we might as well look around so we go in. 2-3 minutes later a guy with a brown jacket walks in carrying to large boxes. He delivers them to the store personnel who signs for them and as he's leaving I ask him to check his truck for my package. BINGO!!!!! I've got all the right ID and answer all his questions so I sign for it right there. No extra duties, no exchange of $$$ just "here's your package". Nice. And he told me that because he got a call enroute to do a priority pickup that he had been told to bypass my delivery in order to get the priority package, so if I stayed home I wouldn't have gotten it!!!!!

I dončt think Newegg would know if there is a broker fee or not seeing as how the charge is on our end.

They might not know how much the brokering fees would be but they would know if they would apply. I wish I could remember which company it is but one of the other major US e-tailers has had shipping policy info about Canada on their site for a while now and the fine print clearly states that Canadian customers should expect brokering fees and any and all brokering fees will be the responsibility of the Canadian customers. If Newegg had the same policy they'd post it up front, to make sure there wasn't a huge customer backlash down the road. The fact that they do not state brokering fees, and in fact confirm that any brokering fees are already included in the shipping costs, is proof enough for me.
Well I guess we will see when you get your package. How much was your item?
I've already stated that I got my package and that I have been given a written (typed) assurance that there would be no brokering fees, which there weren't.

Wow yeah my friend just showed me the site today. Prices at memory express are cheaper if they have they product. 1.5TB drive just out at mem is 209... newegg.ca is $220.... not a huge difference but enough for me.
I have not checked much other prices but since i live in Calgary i will be sticking to Mem and NCIX for now.
