What up guys!

Just burned out a BFG 8800gtoc, and since I bought it at Best Buy and it has the signature BFG lifetime warranty. I was able to trade it out for original purchase value (woohoo!) for a 4850 plus a $90 in-store credit card.

This has nothing to do with the fact that I also work there of course :D

I've been doing a bit more research on hard drives recently seeing as some people are getting raptor-like response times on some standard 7200rpm drives. Since my 160gb just isn't cutting it, what models should I be looking at? Or should I just wait, save the extra 100$ (being a college student as well, $100 might be a few months) and get a raptor?

Finally, I've been reviewing the 'Enter the Matrix' sticky thread regarding getting the best portion of your harddisks. If I were to simply reformat my existing drive, (the better of the two in my sig) grab another one off the shelf
and go about raid0 would it be worth it rather than slicing the top off the new one for a better seek time? And finally, to go about getting that best portion of your harddrive, can you just format the top, say, 30gb and it automatically takes the fastest area by default or do you need a utility for it?

I would say the Western Digital WD6400AAKS

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136218&Tpk=WD6400AAKS

would be your best bet right now. Get a few of those and do a matrix raid followed by a standard raid.

Those are very fast drives... I am amzaed by the speed of mine.
