i got this card for Christmas and since i have a lower end pc was wondering if anyone has it or has used it and could tell me if i should keep it when i get my new rig or should i get a new card

what you want to do with your new rig? The x1600 won't cut it for gaming.

well i plan to upgrade later on but for now i want to use it when i get my new rig as its the only thing i got, its been good to me so far but it wont cut it in the long run i know, but just wondering how it performs on a higher spec rig, i also mostly play source based games, mostly day of defeat source

if you don't mind running on low settings and low rez, it should be able to play cs:s and dod.

i dods at 1024x768(low i know but higher res hurts my eyes a bit) with medium settings getting 50 fps sometimes dropping to he mid to low 40's depends on whats going on etc (i like small servers with between 6 to 10 people)

If you're playing Source-based games at 1024x768 you should be okay. Source is very dependent on CPU speed, but not so much on GPU power epecially at that resolution. It's always something that you can upgrade later on if/when you decide to expand your choice in games. :)

as much i as i love playing pc games and believe me i do, i just dont buy and play alot of the newer games mostly cause my pc cant handle it etc but i like older games and source games
