Hi guys i have the following monitor (the one in my signtnature)

it has both DMI and VGA ports, is it possible to play xbox360 on it even if I don't have a HDMI port?

if so is there some sort of adapter I can buy?

Thanks

EDIT:

I found this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2U8SonHfzk

So it is possible to use my LCD monitor to play on the xbox 360 but What i'm confused on is he talks about hooking up the RED and White cords to an adapter for sound, and the 1 green female port will then be connected to the surround sound...But I have a Kilpsche THX sound system on the computer and I don't see how I don't see any male ports other than 1 that connects into my left speaker. and that male port is connected into my sub.

Any ideas on how the sound would work?

i went to radioshack and bought a converter to convert the red and white plug so i was able to plug my speaker plug into it, let me try and find a pic

apparently the official microsoft vga set comes with a converter

im sure this will work

Thanks, unfortnatley I don't ahve that kind of hook up, basically I only have 2 male connectors:

1 green on that goes from my subwoffer into my computer's sound card, and another 2 male hook ups that go into the 2 speakers on my desk.

Here is my sound system i have:

If that one doesn't work:

well that one plug u plug into sound card will be the plug u have to plug into the converter to get sound so your going to have to switch back and forth for when u want to use sound for pc or 360, unless somehow u can split it to both.

i use this for mine

http://www.impactacoustics.com/product.asp?cat_id=109&sku=40645

along with

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10401&cs_id=1040109&p_id=678&seq=1&format=1#largeimage

but i never use my desktop speakers for my pc so =]

hope this kinda helps :)

sounds like you will need an rca to stereo mini adapter to bring the audio cables from the xbox into a 3.5mm (aka stereo mini) jack, then you will need a stereo mini female to female adaptor to hook your xbox into the klipsch 2.1 set, as the klipsch doesn't have any input jacks only output jacks.

The adaptors should all be found at your local radioshack, or source stores, that is where I've gotten all of mine in the past.

There is a vga cord for the 360. It's what I use to play my 360. I have my pc plugged into my dvi port and the 360 plugged into the vga port. http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-VGA-HD-AV-Cable/dp/B000B6MLTG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1222715836&sr=8-1 I had to get an vga cable extender to still be able to plug the sound channels into my speakers but I got a good cable so the image quality isn't degraded. I was fortunate because my speakers had enough ports for my pc and for a console system. And the fall update that is coming out soon is supposed to enable 1680x1050 over the vga cable.

For sound what I did was go out of the vga adapter with optical into the front plate of an X-Fi Platinum, using the Dolby Decoder on the X-Fi to get Dolby 5.1. This is the only reason I stll use a PCI sound card. My motherboard actually came with a PCIe X-Fi card but it does not have the Dolby Decoder so it sits in the box unused.
