xp turning itself into standby mode?

i just installed xp..
and i had my pc on all night and when i got up the screen was black.. i moved the mouse hit every key on the keyboard and so, but nothing worked.. is there power options like in 2kpro?
cuz i think it might be going into standby mode for sme reason. i looked everywhere to see if there were an option to turn it off, but i came across nothing

On most devices in XP there are power management settings on all devices. Maybe it shut one of those down and computer then would not come back from standby. Just a thought...

yea, i looked, and they only thing that had that was my nic card.. i turned that off, and it still does it

I don't know if this would help but go it to display click on screen saver and go to settings see what they are set at and maybe change them to never on all of them.

SS is allready off...
its a power thing, cuz it turns my monitor into standby also..

Mine did that with Windows 98S.E. when I first installed it after I did that it stopped.

You sure you checked in display properties/power/power schemes/turn off monitor..and checked never?????
