So about 2 hours ago, I was surfing as usual, played a couple games, etc... Then I come back an hour ago, then monitor is blank and the computer is locked. I figure it was a power management problem, so I shut down and restart, nothing... I have restarted it multiple times with no results. I have an Epox 8KTA3Pro, so it has the onboard POST code display, which is stopping at 4B, or maybe it's 46, I'm not absolutely sure... Anyway, that's where it's locking on boot. So I pull out the trusty mobo manual, and wouldn't you know it, it's about the most incomplete list of POST codes I've ever seen, which of course didn't include either 4B or 46... So anyway... If anyone has a POST card manual, could you let me know what 4B and 46 are on newer Award Bioses? I've got a research paper due on Monday and this is worrying me... The computer store's only open for another 4 hours and closed tomorrow....
Thanks so much in advance for the help...
Peace
John

OK, so I found on BIOS Central's Award Page (http://www.bioscentral.com/postcodes/awardbios.htm) that both 4B and 46 are 'Reserved'. So I'm pretty much still in the same boat.
Any more help anyone can offer would be great.

Reserved normally deals with memory/CPU.

Have you reset your CMOS? Try reinserting yout graphics card?

Just throwing things around.

It's sounding like an IRQ conflict...
Post your system specs so we can be more helpful, need to see what pci-cards you have, etc.:)

Anyway, thanks for your help... I'm gonna try different ram and a different vid card, cuz those are the only different things I have.

I always have started with pci cards due to my experience w/ epox boards & irq conflicts.
I had a post code of 49...turned out to be the nic card.
Try moving that nic card down a slot...

K... with No memory or Cards (processor is only thing plugged into mobo), get FF (normal). Add Memory, get FF (normal again), Add Vid Card, get 4b or 46 (still can't tell, but the same one I was getting), swap vid card for GFII-MX 64Mb, same thing... This is with everything else taken out. I wish I had a PCI Vid card, but I don't...
So yeah, that's where I'm stuck right now...
I got an RMA request for the Mobo put in to NewEgg...
