Could someone try an old 2D game called continuum (eg server.. http://www.extreme-games.net/main/) and tell me what you see in the center, as a spectator, over the spawn area. In the game press ESC+f to turn on the fps meter.
It is 30fps for me but my old card got 100's of fps... I am interested what the (48xx + fast processor) gets. I am curious if a 48xx is the same as a 38xx because of the the pixel fill rate or if the CPU makes a difference with these cards for 2D. Please be honest and constructive with what you find... no point in filling the internet with bs... you can get 60fps if you move the screen to somewhere without much graphics... but I want to know what the minimum is.
My guess is if you do this you will start to understand why some of your games are slow... MADDx1.x ;oP
Also, the GPU cuts down to 50% for a HD3850 in continuum... i see some of you 48xx ppls are starting to notice this in other games like wow ;o)
