If using alcohol doesnt get it off, you could try lapping it with a very fine grit paper.

Most likely though its nothing to worry about and performance wont be hurt.

CLR or Tarn-X. For small stains I use TarnX. To clean out the blocks & rad I use CLR. Then flush with normal tap water. Before assembly rinse with distilled water. Works like a charm :)

Agreed. I can't see that hurting performance one bit. It looks like a tiny bit of tarnish.

I've tried, it does not work.

I usually do this too, but from my understanding you're not supposed to lap these blocks.

Check under the heading "Mechanical Design".

Will it hurt to lap it? Who knows. But I would probably leave it.

Use Neverdull. It's available in most hardware stores and clean off just about any tarnish or stains that you'll find. After cleaning just wash off the residue with some isopropyl alcohol.

I say leave it alone, and just install the darn thing. In my experience, TIM will always tarnish the copper, but EVERY test I have read and done myself has proved that the tarnish does nothing to affect performance.

Enjoy your block, because the ladies will not see the base once it's installed anyway.
