XP is known to be not a good overclocking operating system but some have managed to get it a little better or equal.

How would someone know (other than buying XP) if XP would handle their oc... would prime95 without errors be stable enough for XP?

well id just say if you can run all ur games for a few hours and 3dmark will run all the way, then ur stable enough.. if u fold then thats a different story
I've tried XP on four different of my systems and could not come close to the same overclock that I had with Win2K.
To me, it was just another mark against using it. Didn't care for it even after I got it up and running...just too bloated, in my opinion. After I got finished with it, I had basically rebuilt it and streamlined it right back into a Win2K clone anyway.
Needless to say, it didn't last long on any of those systems.
