I have a question about home networking. I have 3 computers in my home. Pentium 120MHz, Pentium 500MHz & Duron 850@1.13GHz. If I where to have one of these are my LAN server would it make a difference of which system I'd use? I was thinking of having the 120MHz use soley as a LAN server. Any thoughts?

A server of what? If it's games get something over 400 and a bunch of RAM. If it's just a router then you can stick with the 120.

Wouldn't matter, it would just need to be a system on all the time in order to give the other PCs access. I would use my weakest system for it.

There is a forum topic for questions such as these. Internet and Networking. Please post in the proper topic in the future to keep the Mods from having to move so many posts. You're also likely to get more replies when posting in the correct topic.

Check this (www.freesco.org) out. Never tried it, but if I wanted to make an old rig into a router again, that's what I'd use.

That's the program I recommend to everyone too. You won't need to use a hard drive as it'll run from a floppy.

You don't intend to make this a UT server or anythingk, just a router, correct?
