I am planning to get a new Antec 1040b for my current setup (in sig). Is it any good? Is it worth the extra dough to get the full tower version? What's a good reliable company that I can get it from?
Yes, it's excellent.
Search Pricewatch.com for it and find the lowest price you can that won't screw you on shipping charges. Then go to Reseller Ratings (www.resellerratings.com) and check to see if the vendor is reliable. I like anything over 5.5...some won't deal with under 7. It's all about personal choices.
Any reason for the 1040 over the 840? I have the 840 and love it. Plenty of room for all my needs, which I realize, may be different than yours. pchertz.com has very reasonable prices.
73, Hoot
I'll go along with Hoot on that too. I don't have the 830 but I do have a KS282 that has basically the same internal dimensions. About the only thing different is the front cover panel.
Still love my 1030 best of all though. :D

I just got the SX1040. I must say it's big and roomy. The 400w PS is very stable at the 5v rail at 5.03v. Plenty of room to grow with this case.
Newegg.com shipping is very reasonable and it's sent FedEx Savor.
I just ordered parts to build a complete computer including the Antec case and a 19" monitor and shipping for the entire mess was only $82.00 FedEx.
Unlike most places that charge on the amount of what you spend NewEgg is by weight.
Ive got the 1040b as well..I never saw the 840 at the store that I bought my 1040b from..so I cant say how good it is ....but the 1040 has plenty of room, comes with 2 80mm fans, has a place for a 80mm fan for the HDD cage (wich is removable :D),and another place for a 80mm fan at the bottom of the front...I have all 4 80mm fans working as exaust fans, and I modded my case side with 2 120mm Intakes (filtered). the amount of air going thru the case is pretty amazing....it stays nice and cool...CPU temp(xp1700+@1540Mhz) runs at 89-91F(Tt Volcano 6cu+ hsf) under Full load(using F@H). The case temp averages 71-75F. I have plans to add another fan some time in the future...oh yea...all my fans run off a seperate PSU :D

I just got another case in the mail. I ordered the Enermax with the Enermax 350w PS. The case is the same as the Antec SX1040 I received last week. You can put them side by side and can not tell them apart.
I will post the PS spec's once the computer is built. I am waiting for other parts to arrive.

I just got the SX630 ,I hope it will be plenty-o-room for a gaming rig. With an A7V266-E Asus I figure this to be a good team.Is it advisable to go ahead and put another fan in this case(it only came with a rear exaust)? My processer will be a 1.4 T'bird and a Volcano 7 hsf.I would rather be over cooled from the get-go.:) Mabey get the hdd fan as well?

I have this case (sx630), and would suggest adding the optional 2 80mm fans, as I'm sure most will agree, getting the most air exchange thru the case is crucial to lowering temps. btw... I have the two fans in front blowing in and the one in back blowing out.
