Right now i have a 9800 GTX.

I want more performance, so should i sli the 9800 GTX, or get the 280 or 260 and sli one of those down the road?

It depends on your system specs and OS. New video card at that point won't do much if the rest of your hardware holds it back. And depends on what resolution you play at, how much AA/AF and at max settings?

I am playing at 1920x1200 on a 28"

My specs are

Q9550
evga 780i
8gb ram
1000w power supply
9800gtx
vista ultimate 64bit

Well if i were you i would get a GTX280 and SLI down the road. If you dont feel like waiting SLI two GTX 260. That resolution is memory and gpu performance demanding.

2x GTX260 is only going to be faster than a GTX280 in specific games... Personally, I'd go with a GTX280 as they're running about $440-450 on newegg while 2x GTX260 will run you about $500. At the resolution you're playing at, the GTX280 will absolutely demolish a 9800GTX and will beat 2x 9800GTX in most cases. Plus, you'll have one card and a second slot in case you do decide to SLI down the road.
