Ok, I need the best motherboard to overclock a Q9300. My P5Q Pro's ram slot went bad, and windows blue screens when any ram is in a certain slot. I have a Q9300 and, as you know you need a VERY high FSB for it. I heard great things about 750i FTW's.
I heard the contrary for 750i 's . Get a P45...rest is luck.

+1 for a p45. They seem to have the highest oc's for quads at the moment

Is the I45 better than the P5Q Pro. I'd get a P5Q again, but the bios suck big time.

Alright, I don't mean to rush the awsome help, but I need to know before 12:00 today if the I45 will be good for a quad overclock. I'm a little scared of the 4pwm power but it has been shown to be a good overclocker.

last chance before I order.
as i said, its all luck whether you get the good or crap silicon. P5Q's are having great reviews, but it wasnt good for you.
If I were you, I would get the Lanparty DK P45 just because I love their BIOS

+1 for Biostar I45 which holds the world record for FSB. Tpower- P45 OC Record (E8400, FSB675MHz, CPU to 6.0GHz)

Did you update the bios on your P5Q-Pro by chance? With the 1306 bios, it gave me more options for setting voltages and what not compared to my 0506 bios.
Also, windows might be blue screening but did you attempt to reload windows? It could have just crashed (Dont know if you completely ruled out the OS or not).

thinking about it, the most your gonna get outta that quad, 475-500fsb for 24/7 operation.

+1, OCing a quad is night and day compared to OCing a dual.

I have to disagree with You on that. DFI LANParty DK P45 T2RS Plus holds the record of the highest FSB rating - 693,59Mhz. ;)

I think you missed a couple of folks over at XS banging out serious FSB ...

My two recommendations.
Biostar P45's, i.e.: http://www.ocxtreme.org/forumenus/showthread.php?t=3947
DFI P45 DK: http://www.ocxtreme.org/forumenus/showthread.php?t=3910 (UT is coming now too, bound to be great)
I've never achieved or seen much stable, reasonable voltage, plus 470FSB 45nm 24/7 setups till date. They don't clock well unless its Q9650 and above and the MB-FSB relationship with quads to duals is not comparable. For quads, you'll need to search much because very little reliable info exists on their testings. Look carefully at PWM components, they'll matter a lot on the quads but not much for the duals.
The Biostar and the DFI (P45) are the quickest boards at most FSBs.
