I just got a HIS 4870 yesterday and am having a ton of problems with it. I know it's driver related because the default vista driver works great. When I install the ATI drivers my screen will flicker, go black, freeze etc. I had a similiar problem with my 3850 before but it wasn't close to as bad. Basically with the ATI drivers installed I can use my PC for maybe 5min before it acts up. Any idea why? I tried to install the Catalyst 8.10 RC2 but it fails everytime saying it can't install the driver. Help!
I'm running Vista 64. Thanks.

When You're trying to install, what error do u get?
as far as i understood u had 3850 and then changed to 4870, did u clean ur drivers+registry before installing ur drivers?

I never cleaned the drivers, I just uninstalled as normal. I didn't realize I didn't to do that. Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Use Driver Cleaner Pro for 2k/XP and use Driver Sweeper for Vista.
