PS3 Suggestions

What games should I get for my new PS3? I bought it with resistance, and will get resistance 2 and Little Big Planet of course, but games like GTA and stuff I have for 360.

Anyone recomend any decent action games? I don't play RPG or sports.

Be on the lookout for Mirror's Edge next month. That game looks all KINDS of sexy!

Also, if you haven't yet played it, Bioshock is coming soon for the PS3 as well.

Motorstorm is supposed to be fun, and CoD4: Modern Warfare is pretty cool, too, from what I've heard.

My fav PS3 game is MLB the Show.
I was not at all impressed with MotoStorm
Some other good bets would be:

Call of Duty 4
Resistance
Warhawk
Stuntman Ignition

many others too, the PS3 doesn't have that many exclusives so ask your friends who have 360s which games they like too.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately I own 2 copies of Bioshock, and I own COD4 for PC. Mirrors edge will definately be in my collection, even if EA screws it up, and naturally I have orange box on PC.

What! Warhawk was pure awesome. Possibly my favorite online multiplayer game ever. You're thinking of Lair. You can download warhawk and the expansions for a good price. It still has a lot of active players, and supports trophies.

This! Definitely get MGS4. The absolute best game on the system. Perfect single player and great multiplayer (once you set it up :P )

Burnout Paradise is also an amazing game, and is only $30 (which you can buy on the PS store, which I'd recommend) or cheaper if you buy a hard copy used.

As for a few back titles, these can probably both be found for pretty cheap nowadays:

Uncharted is beautiful, and a must buy if you're a fan of action games with puzzles.

Heavenly Sword plays like a movie. It's incredibly beautiful. If you like games like God of War or Devil May Cry, pick it up. Oh, and Devil May Cry if you haven't yet :p

As for the future/now, I'd recommend Motorstorm: Pacific Rift (try the demo too), Saints Row 2, LittleBigPlanet, FarCry 2, Fallout 3, and Resistance 2.

IAACP: Yes you did help, thanks! Yeah I guess it was Lair that was the problem. I'm downloading demos for most of what was mentioned here right now. Im liking what I am seeing, and this PS3 is actually worth the purchase so far! Next thing thats going in it s a bigger hard disk and linux

If you like racing GT5 prolouge is great. But know its a simulator , not an arcade type so its not easy. Warhawk is good, Metal Gear is good. If you like RPG games Folklore is really good. For fighting games of course Soul Calibor and Tekken which you can download and its also online. Wipeout is another downloadable that is very impressive and fun to play. Alot of people like uncharted but i never played it.

I would look into linux, I know it works but the last i heard they never developed a Video Driver for the RSX which would make it pointless. Its also lacking memory to run linux without strain.

I just purchased GRAW2, ya its been out for a while, but it was only 29.99 at bestbuy. I also would suggest BF bad company, although the story is a little cheezy the graphics and sounds effects are pretty good.

Well, getting use to the controls is the first barrier. My biggest problem is the gameplay itself. Because during missions, it is extremely confusing. The game will kind of tell you that you have save this, or do that... etc. However, you get lost in the game very easily, losing sight of the target or mission.

IMHO, I don't think the game is even worth the month at $20.

Let me preface this by saying, yes I have played and played through Prologue. Calling GT5 a "simulator" is like saying being great at Tekken will bet you prepped to become the next MMA star. I found it much less simulation-like than any of the Forza games. Now don't get me wrong, it is not OutRun but it is nowhere near a simulator, that's just their tagline. The graphics sure are pretty though :D

The video drivers in at least Yellowdog and Ubuntu which have PS3 specific build work fine but when it comes to doing anything remotely intensive or even listening to Pandora radio, the PS3 runs out of memory so that part is spot-on.

GT5 is much harder and has more precise physics then Forza and such, and the same cars in those games feel much different.The developers for GT5 worked with Ferrari and Nissan in the development. For a driving simlulator nothing is more realistic to how the cars perform. The only way to really feel the the accuracy of the cars physics is IF YOU SHUT ALL THE AIDS OFF:), which are left on by default. Then you can really feel the difference in the cars and how sensitive the physics engine is.

Just like Wow.... You had a totally different experience than I have or have played like beta versions from Mars or something of the last 4 installments and 5th demo errrrrr I mean Prologue.
