I need something good, but as cheap as i can get without being too cheap.
The system will have
X2 5600+
HD3870
Foxconn 590SLI
HDD
A dvd drive
4Gigs of ram.
Power supplies have never exactly been my "cup of tea".. i was going to sell all of these parts, but theres not much point because i can't get that much for them. The motherboard alone was around $199 i think.
Suggestions? thanks.

a bit of overkill though, however the price at the time is outstanding.

For that price, i'd buy it and stick it in my current system. Nice one though! :p
Great price

Thanks, i was looking at that one. I'm thinking for the quality, it would be my best bet. All i need to buy for it is a HDD and PSU, then she's another running machine

Guys, i have a question. I also want to purchase a HD4870X2, but i am not sure about my PSU. My system is
Сore 2 Quad Q9300 2.5 GHz oc 3.0 GHz
Asus Maximus Formula
2x OCZ Gold XTC 2 GB
2x Samsung HDD 250 GB
Samsung HDD 640 GB
2x DVD-drives
Gigabyte Aurora + 3 led fan
Zalman 9500Led
OCZ StealthXstream 600W
So is my PSU good enough for installing HD4870X2?

On paper it should be ok. There have been some issues with the Stealth and Gamestream units. How old is it? Try it, you'll know soon enough.

What kind of issues? I guess, it is about 2 -3 months old. May be it is a better idea to take GTX 280? Atm i am running Geforce 8800GTS 640 MB...

On guru3d there was a review and they mentioned a system power consumption around 400W and adviced a 550W psu, but mostly i've seen only advices to choose 750+ W psus... So u advise to choose something with smaller power consumption?

Stalker,
Try your unit before buying something new. If Jonny Guru recommends a better unit then the Corsair 550 or the Corsair 650 are top notch and more than enough. You don't need 750w.
However, some of the sale prices on the Corsair units are so good that if you see the Corsair 750 for the same prices then there is no reason not to get one that big for no other reason that the price alone.
Or check our the Xigmatek 750W Modular one. Works like a charm and is cheap also. Sweet light-up blue fan too ;)
