Simple: what's the biggest, fastest 7200 RPM 2.5" drive? Gotta be SATA, and it has to be under 9.5mm tall, cause my MacBook Pro won't take the 12mm ones. Also, any idea if we'll see 500GB drives at 7200 RPM anytime soon (or anything bigger than 320)?

Just doing some research and found this: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/hardware/soa/Seagate-announces-500GB-notebook-drive/0,130061702,339290555,00.htm

7200.4 is due this quarter. However, pricing is not known but it should be plenty fast.
I just bought the 7200.3 320GB. For the price ($80 CAN), I couldn't resist.

Those seagates will be sweet. I'd like to get two of them and see what they'll do in raid 0

Hmm those 500GB 7200 ones look nice. I just recently jumped from 80GB to 250... maybe I will be upgrading sooner than later. :)

What did you go from?

I've just grabbed an HP Pavilion DX5 that has a 9400 proc and it came with a 5400rpm 320Gb drive. I'm looking to improve on that.

I bought from NCIX.ca in Canada, they are not at that price anymore, there were 3-4 stores selling them at that price in Canada, all within 2-3 weeks but that supply seems to have dried up now.
