View Full Version : O_O How far to push the 4850 ? It needs to last at least 14 month!

Hi,

I just ordered an Accellero Twin Turbo for my Powercolor 4850. Cause the Powercolor has excellent cooling I already tried OCing a little... It easily goes up to 740/1100...

Is it difficult to attach that Twin Turbo ? Especially these small passive RAM/ Voltage cooling blocks ?

I need the 4850 to run for at least 14 month. Do you think this is granted with settings comparable to 4870 clock speed ?

What clock/ memory settings do you think (or better know) to be safe and stable for a 4850 ? 750/ 1150 =? Or even more ?

Please note that I'm a nub. Please explain me anything I could have overseen.

Don't over-volt it much and she should easily last 14 months, but when it comes to hardware nothing is a guarantee, there's always an odd ball or two.

Are you serious ? You are running a 4850 @ 900/1300 ? Are you playing games with it ?

When did you have to increae voltage ? Since I wont mod it, I can only go up to 1,158 Volt. Thats the highest Ati Tray Tools allows.

takes me 1.45 to hit 875, so somewhere inbetween 1.40 and 1.55vGPU most likely.

I couldn't get above 725/1160 on stock, it was bench stable but not game stable. It takes ~1.395v to get 900 core and ~2.1v for 1200 ram.

Anything above that produces detrimental results.

Mh what is the max Voltage I can run without using any hardmods ?

I hope 800/ 1150 is possible without hardmodding because that totally exceeds my knowledge.

*edit*

Concerning RBE the max voltage is 1.158. Hope that is enough for 800MHZ Clock Speed.

From my experience 1150 on the RAM should be easy, as for 800 on the core, mine couldn't do it on soft mods. If you're serious about OCing this thing, I wouldn't cross off a hard volt mod off of the list, it's relatively simple to do.

Best of luck.

Are there any good guides on a hard volt mod ?

I'm no electrician and I don't have the right touch for such things. I'm almost 100% sure I would manage to break the card...

If it goes up to 780MHZ that would be OK to.
