My 750w PSU just died about 1 hour ago. Cost £30 off ebay so no big suprise there. I am just wanting to know what PSU you would recommend for me. Ym system is in my sig but hopefully i will be upgrading sumtime at the start of next year. This will include:
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600
GPU: nVidia 260 (Then 2x for sli later on)
Maybe another 2 HDD and a Blueray burner
It must be no less than 700watt and have 2 pcix 6pin and 2 pcix 8pin for the 2 260 GFX cards.
I have been thinking about buying a OCZ PSU? I also overclock my hardware.
Thanks for any advice.

nvm i posted an psu but wasnt ur power expectation.
Why do you need 700+ watts ? You can get the awesome corsair HX620 which will just about power anything. Its also modular to keep the mess down, and is very quiet. What more could you want ?

+1 to the 750tx,
"Why do you need 700+ watts ? :
Because there's no psu that's nearly as good as this one for $100

I'm running this one and it is a good price lots of PCI-e connectors and SATA. For the price you can't beat the quality.
My only issue is the cables are long and not modular so I had lots of remnants I had to stuff somewhere.

Been searching for the 750tx, but i can't seem to find a retailer in the Uk that sell's it. Can anyone point me in the right direction??
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/134677 Fantastic retailer. Used them alot.
Still would recommend this one though http://www.ebuyer.com/product/114941 (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/114941)
Its powerful enough and is modular
Or even this one http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135514 because its a lot cheaper.
have you actually calculated your PC's power consumption ?

I run it in my main rig. I love it.

Not sure how much power my current rig uses. Would probably get away with a decent 450 PSU but I'm hoping to upgrade early next year so I want a bit of power in reserve for a new rig.
my 1st choice would be PCP&C Silencer 750 , then maybe 750TX

The best is the antec signature 850. Willing to spend that amount of money?

Those were the 2 that I was considering when I bought my 750TX. I ended up getting the 750TX because I read that the Silencer 750 was much louder due to the smaller fan and they're both solid units, so I made my decision on noise output.

Assuming you have the following:
PCI sound card
2 sticks DDR2
3x 120mm fan
DVD+-RW
2x GTX 260
Q6600
3x SATA HDD
You need:
439 watts, 30.7A on +12V. A Corsair HX520 will be more than enough for your planned upgrade in your previous post, and still have room to spare for more (assuming eash GTX 260 only uses a single PCI-E connector... if they need two, you'll need the HX620, or some molex>PCI-E adapters).
You have lots of upgrading to do before you need to be looking at 700 watt units.

I think every PSU mentioned here is a quality unit. Check out the reviews on them and decide which one you like most. Then if the price is right buy it.

Thanks everyone. I finally got a Corsair TX 650 (NEW from ebuyer) and a TX550 for cheap off ebay. I always like to have a backup PSU handy. thanks again.

PC P&C 750. There's a sale on newegg now in cyberdeals. Should be about 100 bucks with the rebate.
Edit: Was on my phone when i posted. Here's the links. Don't forget the code "esave15"

lol here is a newegg review on the corsair 750tx.
Pros: Makes you smarter, stronger, and better looking. My bald spot filled in and my dog came home.
Cons: I didn't get any taller. Hopefully Corsair will add that to the list of features in the near future.
Other Thoughts: I didn't realize how much my old PSU was holding me back. I had a 500W that came with my Raid Max case and it got the job done but it was pretty much maxed out. I was reading through the reviews and someone said something about PSU's messing with your system bus. Turns out that's true. My system responds incredibly fast now. I can't get my finger off the mouse button before the window is open. I will never buy a case with a cheap PSU again.
Although I don't trust most of the reviews on newegg, this one cracked me up a bit.
Also thinking about getting this to replace my 700watt OCZ thats on its way out.
