my system:
q9550 processor
p5q deluxe 1406 bios
3870 x2
hx520w corsair psu
Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5

i have been having weird things happening with this memory, i can run my computer with 1 stick in fine (both sticks work fine on there own),when i put both sticks in my computer it wont boot sometimes when it has been of all night, so i have to take 1 out and run it and it works fine, i get bsod no signal on my monitor, and my screen goes like a tv looking for a signal sometimes,i have run memtest and the memory is fine, it seems like the dont want to run together,my system is not overclocked by the way, im wondering if its something to do with compatibility but im no expert, any advice would be great thankyou, oh and i have tried tinkering about with the voltages and things with no luck, while i type this message i am currently running with 1stick in which is 2048mb, i have took some screenshots.thankyou

What voltage are you running? Also what is tour tRFC and northbridge voltage. What version # are your sticks (look on their side).

all voltages are on auto, ram is version 1.1

"All voltages are on Auto" doesn't really tell us anything. Post all of your current voltages using software like Everest, HWMonitor or PC Probe. You can also access the voltages in the Hardware Monitor section of the BIOS. The only voltage that software can't read on the P5Q is Vdimm, but may be visible in the BIOS. Also download Memset and post a screenshot or post all of your current RAM timings. In the BIOS take Vdimm Voltage off Auto, and set it to 2.1V at 5-5-5-18.

Set RAM voltage to 2.0v and tRFC to 60. Also check which slots you're using. Let us know what happens. Here is the Memset link: http://www.memtest.org/

does this sound like incompatibility between the ram and the motherboard?

I've heard of others reporting the same and also the reverse. At this point, you may be better served asking on a thread talking about your mobo. Perhaps others have had similar problems. I think I would also spread the question to several other forums (including the Corsair forums: http://ramguy.com/ ) so that you could get a wider cross section of replies. Sorry I couldn't be more assistance.
