Trace tape

I see that the accepted method for unlocking XP's is with crazy glue and a defogger repair kit, but what about using trace tape?

I actually got it to work on my 1800+ the 2nd time. Seems that the reason why it doesn't work is that it doesn't press down hard enough to touch the contacts. I took the pad in the corner of the L1s, unstuck it and then stuck it on over the traces and the tape. Then when I put the HS on and tightened it down it pressed on the pad, thereby pressing the traces onto the bridge contacts and closing the gap that was causing the problem. This works well....I'd try it. All the dimensions of the bridges are the same as on the tbird athlons so the traces fit, you usually just need something to press them down hard enough so that they'll contact the metal on the chip package.
