I dont know secfic setting but overclocking is all trasil and error . ( you will not be able to hurt your cards by overclocking to far bcause unless yuo Voltmod you wont have enough voltage to hurt it ) I would start with teh core @ 700-750 and work up from there

well 9800GTX+'s already run at 738 on the core. Try 775-800 on the core. Watch your shaders if you keep it linked with the core. As for ram. Try 1200 or so. It should be the sweet spot.

on my none + 9800GTX with is a base model from XFX i can get up to 820/1220. i voltmodded the card and was able to get up to 880-890 without artifacts in ATi tool but i got the same, sometimes less, score in 3dmark. i wish i waited and got the evga 9800GTX+ one this card stinks for ocing.

If the score gets lower then the card gets too hot or just isn't stable enough at the clock speeds : \

temps were 30's if i remember. i had a 1 ton portable AC unit blowing right at it 2 feet away. the card just doesn't like ocing (my particular card i mean) 82-650. i'm just used to ocing my older 8600GT's since i get like 300+mhz oc with them.
