Hi,
well I just reinstalled wow (world of warcraft) after getting my new PC expecting smooth gameplay to be horrified with 15fps average in shattrah city (all graphics settings max, but only at 1280 resolution)
I have a Q9550 running 100% stable at 3.4ghz, wow takes up <40% of 1 core. (this includes all background stuff)
I have 8gb ram. wow takes up between 2 and 3gb (this includes all background stuff)
(The above 2 are according to system manager)
so clearly these aren't being maxed which makes me think its the graphics card. I have the latest drivers installed from NVIDIA.
I have now made it playable by lowering draw distance to its lowest and removing ground clutter and shadows, this gives me a more reasonable 60fps.
But am I wrong in thinking the 8800GTS 512 should be fine with max settings for wow? As it handles Crysis far better. I also ran warhammer online with no problems.
Anyone got any tips to help me performance?
thanks in advance
