So, I finally got into this whole overclocking thing, and I took it a bit too far. I have somewhat of an old system, but that probably isn't too relevant. What I did was after overclocking my cpu, I learned that I needed to sync my FSB and my memory latency. My FSB was at 166mhz and my memory was at 133mhz on the "by spd"(auto) setting. Without bumping the voltage up(which I'm guessing is the problem), I set the memory ratio from by spd to 100%, making it 166mhz. I saved the settings, rebooted, and now it's just a blank screen. No bios, no safe mode, nothing.

Now my question's: is there anyway I can revert back to safe settings or manually up the voltage like with jumpers or something like that? How could I change the settings back without entering the bios? Am I screwed?:bang head

Check your mainboard manual. My experience has usually been that most boards have a jumper you can use to reset the BIOS to stock.

check out your motherboard manual. You should be able to clear the cmos chips by changing a jumper. Just make sure when you change the jumper only leave it that way for 10-15 seconds. DO NOT BOOT THE SYSTEM WITH THE JUMPER SET ON THE CLEAR-CMOS SETTING. Change it, and then put it back, this clears the cmos chips and puts all your bios settings back to the factory defaults. booting with the jumper set to clear can kill the cmos chips on your motherboard.

Wow man thanks alot. One question though, do I have to have my computer plugged in or disconnect everything? How would it know I changed the jumper if it was not at least plugged in(just not booted up)?

Well I unplugged it and reset the cmos and now it won't read my hard drive. I should mention I also forgot to take out the cmos battery when I reset the jumpers... any idea's?

Try again with the battery out for a few minutes.

If it reset the BIOS then you might need to adjust your BIOS options for how your HDD is setup (IDE or AHCI, etc), and which device is first in the boot sequence.

What are your full system specs? It can help us if we knew everything. I would unplug everything, switch the jumper, and pull the battery. Let it sit 15-20 minutes and then put the battery back up, replace the jumper, plug everything, and then try and start it.
