Here is the kicker though... They still will more than likely have the 250GB monthly cap!

Verizon FiOS has been offering for awhile a 50/20 plan for the same price. That's 2X's the Upload speed as Comcast.

Plus they offer a symmetrical one too of 20 down and 20 up for only 70 a month. Cheaper if you have a phone with them.

And no bandwidth caps of any kind. I think I'm up to 2 TB so far. ;) Still pay the same monthly rate.

Not only that but if someones is a heavy bandwidth user comcast will throttle them even before hitting 250gb cap.

So I guess it's time to look for docsis 3.0 modem.

I just saw that comcast was getting a bigger line soon. Too bad like EmAn said, didnt see anything about higher bandwidth cap. I know 250 gigs is alot, but with such a nice pipe, it makes me =(

While I agree the bandwidth cap is dumb, free speed is free speed. (Minus the new modem, but since Comcast rents it out to you, so they'll most likely give you a docsis 3.0 modem for free)

If they make people pay for the new modems that will be not cool :(

edit - lol my grammer is so bad it's embarassing, yeah I'm too lazy to fix it =D

From what I've read, DOCSIS 3.0 is compatible with existing modems. You will need a new modem to be on the 22 and 50mbps connections, though. If you rent your modem through Comcast you should just be able to swap it out for a new one.

Here's the current deployment schedule.
