hello all
im in need of come convincing.
due to a very very disapointing FC2, and WARHEAD im in two minds, do i hang on in there with the pc, or get a 360 ?
I dont really want to get a 360 as ive spent so much money getting my system upto were it sits today.
my last hope for the 08 games are GTA and FALLOUT 3.
In the meantime i need a game thats going to convince me pc is good.
im after something to push my 4870 but at the same time isnt going to stress the who system out.
Not into RPG's,
Any ideas guys ?
have you tried Team Fortress 2 ? It won't push your system to any limits, but its a very good and very addictive game.

Try STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. The latest, Clear Sky, is alright, but nowhere as good as SoC.

I recently bought an xbox360 and let me tell you, if you hate FPS on a controller, you'll hate the xbox 360. Its soo sooo frustrating play a game like CoD4 on a controller, your reaction time is so slow even with the controller jacked up to the highest setting. You just have to learn to play differently, its more like a camping game rather than a game whoever has the fastest reflex will win. That being said, i can't wait for gears of war 2 on xbox!

agreed, It was pretty frustrating to go to an fps from the pc to the ps3. Getting my reaction time up was very difficult. I just kept thinking how easily I could win if i had a mouse and keyboard lol.
As for a good game, i also think im waiting for gta would be a good bet. I was hoping that FC2 would be sweet, but all Ive heard is its not that great, which is unexpected seeing how good the first was. I think ill wait and try it for myself.

Some people are having technical problems with the game, but the gameplay is tons of fun in my opinion. I'm loving FC2!
I would second the recommendation for TF2. I've probably played more TF2 than all other games combined over the last year, it never gets old! You might as well pick up the whole Orange Box while you are at it to play Portal and the HL2 games. It's a great deal.
call of duty 4.

tiny bit older than most of the others, but what about supreme commander and its sequel forged alliance, epic RTS and dirt cheap (you can get both of them together over in the UK for £15)
I'd also agree with TF2, best FPS since Doom2 IMO

X3 series form Egosoft...excellent game...bit of a learning curve, and it is space sim.
Company of Heroes Gold THQ, excellent RTS game.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R from GSC, FPS, fun game. Great atmosphere, not heavy on graphics but excellent lighting.
SPORE, a casual game to kick back a fiddle with.
BF2142 good online FPS.

COD5 is coming soon but COD4 has a large multiplayer base.
Half-Life2 is a great game if you have not played it yet and Orange box has other goodies (Portal, TF2)
Bioshock is a fun, well done, different kind of shooter (no multi play though)
Spore was fun for a few hours. Not a lot of replay value IMO and it gets repetitive.
I don't think I could go to a console after playing on a PC.

Cant play FPS on Xbox but GoW is just so perfect on the controller.
COD4 is one of my favorite games (amazingly good story for a FPS)
Bioshock was astoundingly good (again, what a story and atmosphere)

Some fun games-- none of them are very expensive at this point.
BioShock <Wicked. Very story-ish. Which I like. Some don't.
Team Fortress 2 <Takes getting used to due to class based nature, after you get into it, great fun. Also cheap.
Mass Effect <Freaking awesome wicked sick game. Not an RPG per say. its a 3rd person shooter with an EXCELLENT story, including 2 and a half sexual sub plots including some hot alien on human action. Exceptional story, excellent graphics, convincing characters. I loved it to death all the way through. Its so heavy on story though that you might say it was bordering on RPG, but no more so than say a Zelda game...
Gears of War< A little old but if you haven't played it and you like fast paced gore, some farcry 1-esque monsters and a challenge, its a good buy.
Doom 3< Its 4 years old but nothing else out there will scare the living crapp out of you like Doom 3. The GX-2 mod which massively improves graphics is due out in a week or so

Crysis< You've probably played it. Its a good shooter. I don't exactly love it mind you but its a good game with good graphics.

Yeah Crysis was surprisingly good. Was physically angry when the game finished on a cliff hanger :P
