Anyone know of the best score in 3dMark 2001 for a Vooddo3 2000? I just want to know how far I should, theoretically be able to push this card.

I had a voodoo3 3000 OCed to 198mhz and I could barely even get 3dmark2001 to run...when it did score was less than 1000. I did manage to reach 4150 or so in 3DMk2000 (800x600 16bit)

I don't mind getting a low score, because I know that I'll never hit over 600. But I wanted to see what a ballpark figure would be.

Unfortunately, it's on my second system. The Celly 400. I just switch motherboards back to my Asus P3V4X, but it's only got an OEM cooler on it right now, and I'm running it at stock speed. The Aopen MoBo, I'm going to try to enter in the Aopen custom case mod contest, but It'll be submitted by my brother. I can't really enter because I work for an Aopen Co-operating partener. Anyways, My top score so far has been 580 with the newly installd HSF. A big improvement over the 441 that I got previously with the last setup.

DAMN i did it again... rofl

2023
With My V3 2000, I still have it, but its retired to my dads pc, Bad thing was the drivers I had didnt like 1024x768 res, would lock up, But I got a V3 3000 and it didnt do that anymore, then later the 2000 stopped as well, go figur, Both went to 170+ I belive, the 3000 is in a friends pc, said it ran Max Payne not overclocked.
Im going to get another though, just for the heck of it, another 3000, going to mod it to death and see what I can get out of it. But thats down the road, When I get my dualie system built...Wanna see how a V3 takes to a dualie :D, ( down worry its only temporary.)
My V3 3000 AGP with 186mhz clock and a Celeron @ 975 gets only 900 points in 3dmark2001 as I remember- I only ran it once, and uninstalled it and tossed it in a draw in a fit of anger. Got it running in the backuo box now. Got 2800 in 3dmark2000, my how things have changed...:)
I had a PCI version V3 3000 too, and no surprise- it was a little slower than the AGP version.

never... The reason for this is because the 3DFX cards dont support half of the tests run in 3dmark2001. They take a huge hit in pts. for that reason. This is why the tnt card picks up points in that test over the Voodoo's. In the older games that support *Glide*, (games by Blizzard Entertainment), the Voodoo is the card of choice. I still play Diablo 1 and 2, and both ran better on my Voodoo 3 3000 than they do on my Radeon 32 ddr card, not as fast, but smoother and looked better too. So my point being, there are a lot more to these benchmarks than just a score, there are a lot of things to take into account than just the final pts. total. By the way, my score was anywhere from 400's unclocked with a Celeron 500, to 1200-1300 with celeron 800.

Hmmm... this is kinda weird. I can't OC the Voodoo past 181Mhz with the Aopen mother board, but I can OC the CPU to 500Mhz. With the Asus motherboard, I can OC the CPU past 451Mhz, but I can get up to 193Mhz on the vid card. In both cases, any increase on the vid card resulted in system lock up. Trying to find the "sweet spot" for the card right now. Past a certain point, I get lower scores. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 175-185, I really shoulda written it down...

On my last Two voodoo cards V3 3000 and the latest V5 5500 when the agp bus started bumbing the 80's I would loose some video card OC usually about 10 MHz Most of the time I can't run over 178 MHZ on either of the cards. If I can keep the agp bu below 80 or mid 70's I can hit 185 MHZ but 3dmark didn't matter they benched pretty much the same within 30 points on both systems.
Hope this helps

Okey dokes - just saying - i put my TNT2 M64 in his PC and it was SHI... rubbish. Unplayable. But the voodoo3 (AGP) excellent in everything.

Well, I topped out at 527 points with the GPU@179. Anything past, I seem to get lower scores. oh well, not too bad for a card this old.
