I'm looking for a PSU that could power a Quad 8800GT + a QuadCore (stock clock). I already have one Antec Quattro 850w (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371009) for my Tri 8800GT + Quad Core rig, and love it! But I'm wonder will this Cooler Master RealPower 750w (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171024) works too (better)?? Or the Corsair 750TX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006)?? Which one of these would be better suit for a Quad SLI rig???
I'm still leaning towards the Antec Quattro, but want to see if there's any other out there as good (or better) for about the same money.

8800GT isnt a huge power hog i wdont think... a decent 650 or so should do the trick
anything from Antec, should ONLY be an earth watts, the Quattor are crap i heard and most other Antec PSU's for that matter, (the ones with the stripes?) don't bother.. get a corsair 750 for sub $100 if you can find the rebate ones.

jonny says (http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=58) something else. ;)
And how about Signature series (powered by Delta)? Or NeoPower series (powered by Seasonic)?
LandShark I'm not sure if I understand correct: you have TPQ and a Quad with 3 8800GT's and you just want to add another 8800GT? If yes, add it without fear your PSU is perfect fine.

It's mine. Hehehehehe All Mine! What a sexy piece of hardware.
And Shark, I really don't think there's anything wrong with the PSU you have for the planned machine.

it's for a 2nd machine. it now only has 2 8800GT and a Quad in it from a CoolerMaster 500w PSU. and I want to add 2 more 8800GT in it, but I'm sure I'll need a new PSU given they all will be running full load folding. I'm kinda leaning towards the Quattro 850, the TX750 is a very good price and very good PSU, but not sure if a big single rail will be better for Quad SLI than a 4 rail PSU..... at least according to jonnyguru, the Quattro isn't that bad at all....

Quattro's are decent units. The dodgy ones from Antec were the older TP and SP units. ;)
If you have the $$'s to drop, I would give the Antec signature series a whirl. If I did not have a Zeus ST56ZF in service on my work rig and a Zippy on my home rig, I would be going that route. :)

Got it. If it's in budget I'd say Signature too. Performance wise is on par with Zippy/PC P&C Turbo Cool but not a leaf blower, and sound wise is on par (or better) with PC P&C Silencers.

Signature's aren't cheep for sure but worth the money.
Regarding noise, this (http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTUzMyw5LCxoZW50aHVzaWE=)is what (H)ardOCP (http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTUzMyw5LCxoZW50aHVzaWE=) said:
Noise
There are certain things that 80mm fan cooled power supplies are known for, and being quiet is certainly not normally one of them, however Antec aimed to change that perception with the Signature 850 and largely they succeeded. The Signature 850 was the quietest 80mm fan cooled power supply we have seen to date. The unit was virtually undetectable in our test environment when locked in the incubator, though once removed the unit did have a distinctive presence though it was hardly loud and could easily rank among the quieter 120mm cooled units we have seen. And the signature vs the flagship PC&power cooling 860 turbo cool noise wise...
As such the list price of $299.99 + Free Shipping (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371018) for the Antec Signature 850 may seem steep to many price conscious users looking for a bargain over a premier product. At this price point the Signature's only real competition is another flagship product ,the PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 860 ($199.99 after MIR (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703013) to $329.99 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703021)). Given the price and the output similarities the Signature will undoubtedly draw comparisons with the Turbo-Cool 860 and from our results today it seems that the Signature does everything the Turbo-Cool does, does it better, and does it quieter.

Regarding noise let's take a look at SPCR (http://www.silentpcreview.com/Antec_Signature_650). They are very well equipped for this kind of tests.
Acoustic performance is also exceptional, at least up to 250W~300W load. The overall noise signature is good enough to rival the best of the best, as it could be quiet enough in some environments to be masked by either the natural ambient noise or the noise of other components in the PC.
For me right now Signature is THE PSU for a home user (of course, if you can afford it :)).

Oh yes, I completely forgot about SPCR. After all, it's a slient PC review.

Don't forget this review by our own Oklahoma Wolf: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=101
I prefer his reviews over any other. Very well done. Not sure how he's set up for sound monitoring, but TBH that is last on my list of importance for a PSU.
I bought his Signature 650 Review Sample and it was very similar to my PCP&C Silencer 750 with regards to sound. That is, if I put my ear up to it while the machine was running, I could barely hear it over the YateLoon Medium exhaust fan. And on the test bench with no other fans running, each PSU's noise level was comparable to the sound of an HD4870's cooling fan at ~30%. Pretty darn quiet.
