I just got the volcano 6cu+ for my machine. I knew it would be noisy but I didn't realize how much. Is there some kind of insulation material I can put inside the case? i've heard about stuff like that but don't really know much about it. Also would this make a big difference in noise? If not can you recommend a hsf that is fairly quiet but still effective. Thanks

run it at 7volts if your temps aren't too high.

search the forum for 7 volt trick and you should find the diagrams.

I don't have it plugged directly into the mobo because i had heard of 6cu+ not getting enough power.

Whats the difference..

The 6cu+ fan isn't loud at all until you hear the high pitched Deltas.

it has a delta clone , this one can be more annoying as it is more of a sucking sound

temps went up about 3 degrees faranheight now to around 104 degrees i think. But i barely hear anything ! Is there a way to check fan speed if its not plugged directly into the mobo?

The 6cu+ is a good cheap hsf!! :) Better than ORBS!! :)

much better than orbs , i uses the coper to alum design , which by they way in thero is better than all copper , and it makes it lighter

use copper to conduct heat , alum to spread it

and its got a lot of alum

but i think if the base had more copper it would do better

and i do belive fitting 2 60 mm fans wouldnt be a problem

2x 60mm x 38 deltas @ 7v would do nicely , or even 5 maybe

its just removeing that metal shrod, i havent got it to budge
