Memory Standard on Motherboard

Hello - I'm currently building my first computer.

If I were to choose this motherboard:

And this memory:

Would I be wasting money by choosing a motherboard with a memory standard of DDR2 800 and a memory speed of DDR2 1000?

Instead, should I go with this memory:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122

Faster memory will get you more stability and OC potential than standard. It's ok to put it in and use but you wouldn't necessarily want to put in memory lower than standard. Maybe someone else who has an EVGA could tell you better if GSkill plays nice with the board. You could also check EVGA site for memory compatibility.
