Burnner Speeds

How much faster are they gonna make burnner speeds?
I have a 16X plextor and I can burn a cd in about 4 and a half minutes.
I seen an article for a 32X......is there really a need to go any faster?
I mean cd rom speeds have been topped out at 50X or so.

well they did make some 72x CD-roms. But I agree, soon the burning time for a CD will be next to none, which will be nice. BUT, when DVD-RW's drop in price, the speed increase will be focused on them.

32x arent to much faster.. they burn about 30second or less faster then a 24x so theres not much in a point to getting a 32x..

Theres barely any difference from 12x to 32x.

well yea there is.. a 12x will burn around 6~8mins i think and a 32x will burn around 4mins

Hmm well I guess you look at it a different way as I got a 12x from a previous 4x and 4mins of my life difference from a 32x.

The 4x before took like 20-25mins to burn a full CD 650 meg tooo hehehehe..

well ym 4x on my comcrap took 45mins or so.. i guess it just depends on the burner, and how good ur pc is

Whoa my friends 2x burner burns @ 45mins or 50mins...
