ok, i am planning to put 8 sunon 80mm fans to work cooling my main rig, it is a full tower case, it also has a space for a 2nd powersupply, not this is what i am planning......

right now the system is being powered by a 300W Sparkle powersupply, works fine, but i don't want to create a stability problem by hooking up all thoose fans to it

so, i have another 300W antec power supply that i want to use for the fan power, but it is an old ATX, the old school ones with the physical switch

i want to set something up, some redundancy system that would shut both of the powersupplies down, if one of them failed, IE: if my fan powersupply dies, i don't want the rest of the rig gettin crispy

any ideas on how this could be done??

i would also like it if i could switch them both on at the same time, with one switch

you could hook only your motherboard to the new (additional) one and all the fans to the old along with the drives or something like that, so if the psu goes out so will the mb.

But the old one is AT, (type i beleive) so it wont hood up to the powersupply. I think the green wire is the signal wire to start an ATX PSU. You could hook a relay into this wire to turn on the AT powersupply.

Relay would be one of the best options avaliable.
