Today I decided to make a filter for my Antec SX1040 case. I found some very small but breathable open cell 1/4" thick foam. I sandwiched the foam between to pieces of 1/4" birch plywood. I cut the foam/wood on a table saw to the size I needed. The reason I used the plywood on either side of the foam was to get a very nice cut. I cut three pieces of the foam the same size.

Ok here is my problem. I removed the side panel on the Antec case and depressed the three tabs on the faceplate on the removable panel side. I then depressed the bottom and middle tabs on the right side as you face the case. For the life of me I cannot depress the top tab to release the faceplate. I am afraid I will break the faceplate if I apply any more pressure to the tab.

I was able to slide the filter up into position from the bottom, but it’s going to be a pain in the A—each time to clean the filters. The filters look great and should filter the incoming air.

Does anyone have a clue what’s wrong and why I cannot get the faceplate off?

You can take off that side panel by removing the screw/s in the back. It will swing out from the back and you can then take it off. This will give you access to that tab. I've tried getting several things up in there to get to the tab, but in the end I always end up taking off the side panel.

Thanks Ploaf, that worked. I don't know why but I thought that panel was riveted. Time to go buy some small thumbscrews and put in place of the screws. This is by far the best case I have seen to date. I have three more on there way.
