This morning when I turned on the pc it went back to default GHZ etc and said 'overclock failed'

which has never happened...

I went back into bios and reloaded my overclock settings and now its working

???
Whats up?
System below>

This would be my best guess

C.P.R.(CPU Parameter Recall)
When the system hangs due to overclocking failure, there is no need to open the case to clear CMOS data. Just simply restart the system, the BIOS would show the previous setting and then users can amend the CPU setting again.

It's not so unusual for an overclocked system that is otherwise stable, to fail to boot once in a great while, triggering the above function.

At least that's been my experience, anyway.

How long has it been tested for stability? Which program? Prime95? Orthos? OCCT? Which test did you run? Blend? Small fft?
What were your temps under load?
