My X-Fi is not making me happy. I have the XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional version with x-ram and no drive bay. The sound quality is fine but there are a few things that bother me.

1. I can't use any of the enhancements or else audiodg will kill my fps in games
2. I can't easily switch between speakers and a headset (no option in the console and can't use front case ports)
3. Sometimes my soundcard just dies for 30 seconds, I get no sound and my Mic doesn't work, then it comes back on.

So I am looking for a sound card that is similarly priced and won't have these problems with Vista x64. PCI or PCI-e doesn't matter. How are the Razor or cheaper Xonar cards?

My Fatal1ty was just as bad. I tried everything with it, but to no avail. I went with the HT Omega Striker 7.1 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271001) I haven't had a single issue with it. I won't be going back to Creative.

Asus makes good sound cards now. Asus Xonar series.
