so here i will start it off..

also plz only for a little amount of time... we dont want huge files.. also u will need to zip it sence this forum does not allow wav files..

Mine is like a little hurricane. Really its like an air conditioner...its loud when you think about it, but sooner or later it just settles into the background and you hardly think about it.

Mine sounds like the deck of an aircraft carrier during wartime. I'm used to it, don't bother me a bit. My roomates in the next room hate it though :D
It's kinda cool, my comp sits on a shelf next to my desk almost as high as the desk so it can pull in cool fresh air through the window which is about 2 feet away (was thinking of makin' a duct but that's a different topic) what's kind of amusing is when I light up a cigarrette the smoke gets sucked down into the case instead of straight out the window...hmm...guess my next project should be making a filter.

Too loud. My main noise is the HDDs, with some fan hum and pump rumble mixed in. Without the HDDs on it's really quiet.

My DVD is so loud I mounted it on rubber grommets to cut vibration, made some diff. As for fans all mine are 7V or 5V except the rad fan which is 8-10V, it's a 24V 172mm though.

As I can just hear my monitor in a soundless room then there's little point recording my PC it as its silent :p

Turn your PC off and it will sound like mine

my computer is pretty silent. i love watercooling. i can sleep with my comp on with no problem. its a hell of a lot better than my bong. i loved the performance of that thing, but hated the noise and maintenance.

80mm exhaust
80mm blowhole
ystech 120mm 7volt
5000rpm vantec on the vid card
gamma28
4800rpm fan on goldengate (loudest in the box)

That full power ys yech finally made me nutso. Don't know how I stood it for a year.

Most of the noise is just wind now as opposed to fan whine.

Yep the Volcano 6cu+ is quite noisy. Ive had it for a month and a half now. The first few weeks I was not bothered by the noise. BUt now im fighting back the urge to replace it with the stock HSF. ehehehehe.

That was not so bad. You should hear my Athlon dual pelt rig. ;) It’s really not that loud but it makes more noise than your Zip file. Fortunately it sits silent most of the time now. The used dual PII 450 I picked up for $200 at a computer show is much more pleasant to use. It's also nice and quiet. The noisiest part of the dually are the two Cheetah HDs. :D

My computer is fairly quiet, with the only irritating noise being the IBM hard drive. I have a Panaflo L1A 120mm at 10V and a Panaflo L1A 80mm in the power supply, and those are very quiet, quiet enough to not notice if you're trying to sleep. I also have the stock Enermax fan hard wired to around 5V to cool the hard drive, and that is silent unless your ear is right up to it.

I want one of thsoe Seagate ATAIVs to round off my computer. Then it would be dead silent.

I can just barely hear this pc when I sit hear with the tv also on.

When I open the door to the basement though, I can't hear the washing machine or dryer when they are running- thanks to 1 Delta @ 7000 rpm! Keeps the XP 1800(1.533@1.725) 34c though:D

not too too loud here, panaflos: 2 120 L's and 1 80 H, plus PSU fan. definitely not overkill like I see a lot of around here, right now i have my cpu compunurse outside the case and its hovering around the same temp as the one inside my case, so theres no point in any more fans.

But i dont really worry about noise from my comp, that why I got these 400W Logitechs:D a friend of mine came over the other day and said he heard them kickin when he pulled up, and they were at less than 1/4 volume. I love these things.

With my case off I got up once to tell my mother to stop the damn vacuuming and realised it was my rig :) Sad thing is it's about to get a 110 cfm fan and alot louder :(

My rig is fairly good as it isn't that noisy. Have thermo engine, one 80mm and one 92mm case fans and a blue orb. About to get fairly noisy as a 60mm delta fan is on its way. Mabey even another 80mm fan... :)

My System is very noisey. I love it though. Lets me know its alive. I have people come over and ask how I can sleep with it. "It lulls me to sleep". Its just all the fans. And I just bought the Swiftec Mcx-462 with wonderful Delta =). So its going to be just that much louder.

Yea, what 7v mod are you guys talking about, and will it work on all motherboards? I'd like to see detailed instructions of this.

ROTFLMAO !

I use to have 10 fans in mine. It hovered 3 ft off the floor !
CPU had a Delta Black Label on it.
The "Mrs." complained a lot. I din't like the noise either.

I am now using :
1 intake 92mm
1 exhaust 92mm
1 PS exhaust 80mm
1 YS 26cfm CPU 60mm

Instead of connecting the pos. wire to +12V(yellow) and neg. wire to ground(black), hook the neg. wire to +5V(red) in the molex connector.

Bear in mind that this mod does put some stress on the PSU, i'm sure Hoot can explain the electrics!! :)

Doing volt mods is how psu manufacturers stay in business!!:)

Umm...doesn't the fan need a ground? If both wires go to yellow and red.....

My pc is very bearable, i have my delta 68cfm on a rheostat to control its noise and a ystech 130cfm running at 7 volts so the loudest fan is probably the sunon 40cfm in the back.

Of course the machine is still much louder than my macintosh that i have sitting on top of it but the pc is also dishing out alot more heat/power.

I have a GlaciatorII in my main rig, along with a 60 MM 23 CFM Sunon, a 60 MM 27 CFM YS Tech, a Delta 80 MM 44 CFM, a PowerCooler 30 CFM 80 MM. About all I can hear is the rush of air through my case - it's still loud but I don't have a processor fan adding a whine to it. It's in a cabinet in my desk too - which helps significantly.

Now my Duron system - that's another story. Delta 68.5 CFM 80MM - ugh.

Right now I got an Alpha 7125 on mine 950 tbird. Got two delta black label, two 80mm and one Panaflo 120mm. And I hate it. Can wait till my h20 setup is running. But I dont think it will be too much quieter. I got 2 Panaflo 120 and 2 Sunon 120 for my two rads, 5 80mm, and 2 92mm. That 11 fans plus two more from my PSU. Total 13 fans. Yo es muy loco!!!:D

It works fine, i wouldn't do it anyway as it stresses the cpu out!! :)
