You think a hat sink enclosed in a water block, be better then just a watter block????

I think a HS on a H20 block is better. There's a article @ O/C.com on it.
Says even if the H20 pump quit the sys would survive.
Sounds good to me.

the idea of a HeatSink enclosed in a water Jacket or Block sounds kinda cool. that would be one big waterblock, but it may do a good job. Someone will have to build one and post the specs...
The Idea of a HS ontop of a water block could help in the case of a pump malfunction, especially if you could rig up some type of flow sensor to a switch that would automatically turn on that screamin Delta mounted on the heatsink if the coolant flow dropped past a certain level.

I've seen several articles by people who took a conventional copper HSF, enclosed it in a water-tight jacket and pumped water through it. If that is what you are referring to. In each case, the cooling effectiveness was on par with a conventional water block. The only reason I could see for pursuing this would be if you already have the HSF, materials for a jacket, nipples and didn't want to have to buy a water block.
