Ever since I built my PC, (nearly a year ago), it has been very very loud and is so loud it drowns out the TV. I only recently got round to looking for the problem and have finally tracked it down.

I have a very large CPU fan which according to my BIOS rotates at nearly 8000rpm unlike other CPU fans I have had that rotate at nearer 4krpm. This is causing the motherboard (kt7-a) to vibrate and that is what is making all the noise.

The board is screwed down very tightly and as many screws are in place as possible. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way of fixing it? I don't really want a new case as the one I have got was expensive.

Could be a rivet (if used) that's not been clamped down tight enough. Could be anywhere in the case.

If it's that annoying I'd just strip it down and see if I could find it.

May even be a case screw that accidentally got dropped in there and is hung somewhere.

Im almost sure that the vibrations are comin from your CPU cooler/fan.
it's probably not spinnin in circles cuz its not factory balanced as it should b.
Try replacin it with some other cooler.

Try holding down to the fan to see if it still vibrates.

It shouldn't be vibrating or it can result on the heatsink jump around and killing the core.

Turn off the systems and try to move the heatsink up gently and side to side.
