Ok, could someone please tell me what is a good HS / FAN combo to have for an AMD TBird 1.1 Ghz?
I currently have a FOP-32 Heatsink, Fan Adapter and an 80mm Sunon 50CFM (or so my mate tell's me) spinning at about 5000-5300 RPM) (not as loud as a Delta mind you.. but loud enough) and my temps are quite high.
With the case off my idle is about 48-50C and my load temps is about 53-55c usually. My system Temp is usually about 32-35. Now i would very much like to put my Case on but when i do the thing gets quite hot. However, before worrying about case ventilation i would consider buying a good HS/FAN Combo (that isn't too loud, because sound is a big thing for me).
Can anyone reccomend a good HS for a starter? One that might hook straight on to a 50CFM Sunon and still fit on the socket?

Alpha Pal8045 with a good quiet sanyo-Denki fan is a good start.

I'm somewhat partial to the Glaciator, myself. :)

WBK 38..not much louder than FOP32 ..i have both
Can't go wrong with the Millennium Glaciator II and the new CoolerMaster Heatpipe is 40 dollars also(as well as the Glaciator) and I heard it is passing the Alpha PAL8045.

I got a lapped WBK with the 38 delta that do 44 max. Not too bad for $25. I also have the 462 swifty that do 41 max

I only like the new CoolerMaster heatsink with the headpipe other than that all other CoolerMaster aren't up to par to overclocking and their fans only push 15-20cfm and their heatsink material and fins are just bad.

Hi Trance*DeeJay, welcome to the Forum,
for me the bests for $ are the Glaciator II (quiet) or a ThermalRight SK6 with a Delta38Cfm (noisy, but tollerable @7v).

Thanks for that fellas. I'll look into some of the fans/hs you mentioend and try and pick the one that offers the best performance/sound raitio.

That's a good resource to check right there, they use a T-bird 1.3 OC'ed to 1.4 and take dozens of HSFs and test them out and compare them according to noise, performance, price and customer feedback.
I finally ordered a replacement to this ThermalFake Orb, an Alpha PAL8045.

Read the review (http://www.overclockers.com/articles454/) & then check here (http://www.micforg.co.jp/mb_inf_pal8045e.html) to see if it'll fit your motherboard.
Bart Lane (http://1coolpc.com/home/) will give you a good deal for it.

I was seriously considering getting one of those Alpha's but they're 110$ Australian, just for the HS. That's quite epxensive in anyone's book. My MB (Epoxy 8KHA+) will support it *with* some filing down of the HS itself and maybe a tuck here and there with the Fan Mount (Maybe). I'm personally leaning towards the new Swifttech with copper base and 33 CFM fan cause it's just so damm easy to put on apparently.

Either go for the MC462 or the MCX462 with a 80mm 80c.f.m. Delta. Just to let you know both will be loud. Look in my sig I have the MC462 with a 80mm 68c.f.m. with some other fans on intake and exhaust and I get 29C @ Full load.
