I know you guys see a lot of these threads but just to make sure, as I don't want my hardware to catch on fire... will a AX500-A power a system with:

3.0Ghz overclocked Phenom X4 9550
overclocked HD 4850
Biostar TA790GX (disable integrated graphics?)
4 DIMMs of DDR2 memory
SATA hard drive
Optical drive
PCI sound card
5 Fans running at 7V

The power supply is 500W and has 2x 15A 12V rails.
A power calculator says I would only need 385W, but will the amps on the 12V rails be sufficient?

Also I've had this power supply for 2+ years so there is probably capacitor aging.

I would defanantly not trust a no name psu, 500 watts is enough but it probobly puts out no where near that. Get a nice corsair vx550 or tx750(or something sililar like pc and p) and be insured long life of system components.

FSP is a no name now?

Biostar TA790GX (disable integrated graphics?)

You should just be able to plug in the 4850 and go. I took a quick peek in the manual and didn't see anything special.

I've had this PSU for 2 years now for my pentium 4 system overclocked and athlon x2 system overclocked. When I bought it FSP was not a no name brand

Also the motherboard is a Tforce TA790GX A2+ not XE if it makes a difference. I just wanted to know if disabling integrated graphics would save power if I have a discrete graphics card.

Here it is on newegg with specs: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104934 says the rails peak at 17.5A each.

Oh never mind I thought he just said it was a 500watt like there was no name on it but fsp is a good brand. Sorry for the confusion.

So is it time for a new one or not?

I plan on increasing voltage on NB and all the RAM DIMMS too.

You should be ok.

I think the on board graphs card will be automatic disabled when you plug in your stand alone graph's card.
